The first year, we didn't have our photo taken. I wrote once on how Jesse didn't like the holidays until I forced them down his throat and he was filled with Christmas cheer, and you can read about that right here.
The next year, I decided I wanted a dorky picture of us wearing Santa hats in ugly sweaters (with Jesse wearing a mullet wig) taken at Sears, because I had a coupon. I made an appointment for the weekend. We sat there with about 1 million screaming children and parents waiting for their picture to be taken, and they were over 2 hours behind schedule. We decided to go home, me sweating with my jacket over my ugly sweater. We asked the same friend who took pictures during our wedding to snap a couple for us and gave him the cash instead.
The other two I've posted before, but who doesn't like a little bit of redundancy of redundancy?
I know, CUT TO THE CHASE.
When Jesse was finished with the card, he emailed it to me, and I said, "Don't I look, you know, huge compared to you?" "No. It's perfect."
Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and winter holidays in general. Oh! If you want a copy of our picture sent to you, say ROCKET SHIP in your comment and I'll choose an extremely lucky winner. I'll count if even if it's not in caps, because I'm cool like that.
oh my goodness gracious, the mullet wig is wigging me out. [ya like what i did right there?? huh? huh?] also? this year's is hysterical. next year you should totally do one with your chin on your fist and some awesome 80s bright color back drops. it would be 80s-licious.
ReplyDeleteExcellent post. It was fun to re-visit all your Christmas pics/cards!
ReplyDeleteOnce when we went to visit our sister-in-law at Christmas time, she had all of our old Christmas cards from years past up on the wall. They were signed from 'Mark and Mona', 'Mark, Mona & Benny', 'Mark & Mona Benny & Christy', etc. It was kind of fun to see them all again. ~_~
I love the glint in your tooth. (When did you get the gold one btw?)
ReplyDeleteAnd when did you clone Cinn? HMM? Because let's just face it, I'm not sure he's going to get along with himself.
Love the pictures like always. They just keep getting better!
The first photo looks 3 dimensional. Bah! I always knew you were out of this world.
ReplyDeleteI can't even tell you how much I love your picture this year. It is perfect. Now I must go find a tissue to wipe my eyes after all this laughing.
ReplyDeleteIt's on my fridge right now! Right next to last years. I like them so much I leave them up all year.

Bah! I love my card! It's hanging on the card tree. The tooth sparkle cracks me up. Hud sent you 2 cards, because he didn't know I wanted you to have the funny one. Heeeee.
ReplyDeleteI can resist the picture, I never know what to do with the one people send me at xmas. I feel guilty when after 3 years I take them off my fridge and throw them out.
ReplyDeleteawwww love the cheesiness of all those shots.. and the lack of effort in the bookshelf department in the first pic! Hope you all had a great Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI always love your Christmas pictures! This is great, as well.
ReplyDeleteOh, rocket ship!
That title has to be one of the best titles of all time.
ReplyDeleteI love the mullet Christmas card. I love all of your Christmas cards and have been very honored to get some of them. Please keep them coming. I'm the ultimate slacker these days when it comes to cards, but I really do appreciate getting them, especially when mullets are involved.
If you, one day, have children, think of the fun you can have with that! I dressed my babies up one year as little Mexicans with giant sombreros and wrote Feliz Navidad. Hey, I never said I was politically correct.
